This spring the Department of English offers four scholarships for $1,000 toward 2024-25 tuition.
MSU Denver’s Center for Creative Writing, located in King Center Room 421 and affiliated with the English Department, supports creative writing endeavors by providing resources and programming for students, faculty, and the local community.
MSU Roadrunner Review is a student-curated literary journal out of the Creative Writing program at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Metrosphere is an arts, literary and culture magazine that since 1984 has professionally showcased the creative work of students and alumni of Metropolitan State University of Denver. The magazine is supported by Met Media, which exists to provide a comprehensive, multimedia learning experience for MSU Denver students and bring news and information to the Auraria Campus.
Creative Writing Club runs out of the Creative Writing Center. More so than anything else, we want to create a collaborative space where anyone who wants to come to write is welcome. We also want to run events like workshops or weekly writing prompts to encourage people to continue writing. We’re just starting to get established but excited to create a creative writing space!

FiLM Club is an inclusive space for any MSU Denver student or alumni to engage with a variety of film, literature, and media from all over the world with a group of film and lit. enthusiasts. The club consists of in-person and online discussions, screenings, and events.

The Linguistics Club is a student organization that supports the linguistic diversity of the Metro area as well as comprehensive linguistic knowledge!
Our events cover a wide variety of languages, social linguistics, and contemporary issues in the field. We regularly host scholarly presentations by our Linguistics professors, MSU Denver professors in other disciplines, and community experts.

We are the NCTE Affiliate at Metropolitan State University of Denver. We’re crazy about reading, writing, and developing awesome future teachers. For eight years straight and counting, we have been awarded the NCTE Student Affiliate Excellence Award.
