As an MSU Denver student, you have access to professional academic advisors and faculty advisors, as well as staff in other offices that can help you navigate college. Whether you’re needing help with general academic advising, deciding on a major, sorting out transfer credit, looking for referrals, choosing classes for next semester, or exploring careers, we’ve got you covered.
It is common for students to have more than one advisor during their time at MSU Denver. We offer academic advising from both professional academic advisors and faculty advisors.

View the Faculty and Staff DirectoryThe Department of Journalism and Media Production welcomes transfer students from any accredited college or university in the country and from community colleges throughout Colorado.
All transfer students should have their transcripts evaluated by the Transfer Services Office in the Student Success Building.
Once evaluated students may receive the following types of credit:
Some JMP transfer courses transferred from the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) may have direct equivalents at MSU Denver. View the MSU Denver Transfer guides for a list of direct equivalencies.
When a transfer course does not have an equivalent course at MSU Denver, lower division courses are assigned 8000 numbers and upper division courses are assigned 9000 numbers.
Students should meet with a faculty advisor in the Journalism and Media Production program to determine a specific major and whether any other transfer courses may be used in the major.

For students appealing a grade in a course. Students need to review the Grade Policy and Procedures Manual before filing a petition.
Sometimes life gets in the way, and you may have a hold on your account preventing registration.
Students can use this fillable form to prioritize activities and aspects of their daily lives and plan out their schedules to balance life with education.
Need previous coursework to be pulled out of your first degree and applied to their program at MSU Denver.
Students who have a course that did not transfer after Transfer Services have completed an official transfer evaluation of their credits.
