This fund provides scholarships for students entering MSU Denver’s Dietetic Internship Program in honor of long-time, dedicated Department of Nutrition faculty members, Dr. Bruce Rengers and Dr. Cynthia Dormer.

The HRSA-Nutrition Scholars Program application is currently closed.
The HRSA-Nutrition Scholars Program is designed to help cover college costs including tuition, fees, insurance, books, computer, supplies, and living expenses while pursuing an undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition – Dietetics, Nutrition and Dietetics, or as an undergraduate student in the Nutrition and Dietetics Accelerated BS to MS program. Awards are available for low-income and/or first-generation college students enrolled full-time (at least 12 credits per semester) who demonstrate financial need through submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In addition to receiving funds to cover college costs, HRSA-Nutrition Scholars will participate in multiple program activities throughout the academic year.
As part of the HRSA grant, the Department of Nutrition offers undergraduate students studying dietetics at MSU Denver the opportunity to apply for the HRSA-Nutrition Scholars Program which can award up to $40,000 per student per year.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation offers scholarships to Academy members enrolling in dietetic internships. To be considered for Academy Foundation scholarships, you must complete the Academy Foundation scholarship application as directed on the Academy Foundation scholarship website.
It is undeniable that the cost of entering the field of dietetics is a HUGE barrier to the diversity of the nutrition profession. This barrier is one that Diversify Dietetics have had a goal to address and now they are thrilled to launch the Diversify Dietetics Scholarships and Grants.

The Department of Nutrition is looking for 2 graduate students to apply for Summer Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) awards. The GRA are awarded to selected graduate students in return for their engagement with faculty-guided research or scholarship, and the assistantship will be provided in the form of tuition support/loan reduction to the student’s account via the Financial Aid Office.
The graduate research assistantship does not cover student fees. Student must be nominated by a faculty member (please reach out if you are interested to be nominated) and must be enrolled in minimum of 3, and maximum of 6 credits. There may not be any MSND/MSN course available to take over summer, so consider taking 3-6 credits of Independent Study to be eligible for this award.
